GILSONITE
OBM Shale and Fluid
Loss Control
Packaging: Available in 50 lb bags.
Gilsonite is a natural hydrocarbon additive used for filtrate loss control and shale stability in oil based drilling fluids. Its high molecular weight distribution gives it a softening point significantly higher than conventional polymers, allowing it to deform and seal under downhole conditions rather than melting into a low-viscosity liquid.
